This post is a specialist role and will be based either within our Resource Base or in mainstream KS2 classes, supporting pupils to access learning, develop independence, and thrive socially and emotionally. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SENCo to support pupils both individually and in small groups, and to promote inclusion alongside peers where appropriate.
The role also includes midday supervision duties, supporting pupils during lunchtime and outdoor activities.

Is confident supporting pupils’ learning, behaviour, communication, and emotional wellbeing
Is willing and able to support pupils with physical, medical, and personal care needs, in line with school policies
Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may be harder to reach
Is calm, resilient, flexible, and able to respond positively to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
Is committed to inclusive practice, safeguarding, and promoting independence
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils in class, in small groups, and on a 1:1 basis to access learning across the curriculum
Adapt and scaffold learning, clarify instructions, and develop resources to meet individual needs
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and mental health needs and promote positive behaviour
Implement agreed behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
Contribute to IEPs, EHCP-related support, record-keeping, and review processes
Support pupils during playtimes, lunchtimes, trips, Forest School, and outdoor learning activities
Provide personal care, administer medication (where trained), and support physiotherapy or speech therapy programmes as required
Maintain a safe, hygienic, and inclusive learning environment
Play a full and active role in the wider life of the school
Frogwell Primary School is an exciting place to work, with a clear vision, strong values, and a commitment to enabling every child to thrive.
