Location: Civic Offices, 2 Watling Street, Bexleyheath, Kent, DA6 7AT
Hours: 37 per week
Start Date: 02/03/2026
Duration: 24 weeks
Work Pattern: 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
Pay Rate: £32.84 PAYE / £44.77 Umbrella

The Role
A Team Manager is required to provide experienced leadership across MASH, Referral & Assessment, Child Protection and Family Protection services during a period of long‑term sickness cover. The postholder will oversee frontline practice, support decision‑making, manage risk and ensure high‑quality service delivery in a fast‑paced statutory environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide operational leadership and oversight across MASH, R&A, CP and FP teams.
Ensure timely screening, triage and decision‑making in line with statutory guidance.
Manage and support social workers handling complex safeguarding and assessment cases.
Lead multi‑agency collaboration to ensure coordinated and effective responses.
Maintain high standards of recording, compliance and performance monitoring.
Promote safe practice, reflective supervision and continuous service improvement.
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with SWE registration.
Significant post‑qualification experience, including management or senior practitioner level.
Strong background in safeguarding, assessment and statutory children’s social care.
Ability to lead teams in a high‑pressure, multi‑agency environment.
