We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Vertical Saw Operator to join our growing production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with experience in a manufacturing or workshop environment who takes pride in precision, safety, and quality workmanship.

As a Vertical Saw Operator, you will be responsible for accurately cutting materials to specification, maintaining high quality standards, and supporting smooth production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate vertical saw machinery efficiently and safely


  • Accurately measure, mark, and cut materials according to job sheets and technical drawings


  • Select appropriate blades and adjust machine settings as required


  • Ensure all work meets specified tolerances and quality standards


  • Conduct routine equipment checks and basic preventative maintenance


  • Change blades and carry out minor machine adjustments


  • Maintain a clean and organised work area


  • Adhere strictly to health and safety procedures and company policies


  • Report faults, material issues, or safety concerns promptly


  • Support wider production activities when required


    What We’re Looking For

    Essential Skills & Experience
    • Previous experience operating saws or similar machinery in a manufacturing/workshop environment


    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and cutting lists


    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy


    • Good understanding of health and safety procedures


    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team


      Desirable
      • Experience operating vertical panel saws or band saws


      • Experience working with [timber / aluminium / plastics / composite materials – amend as required]


      • Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)


      • Basic mechanical knowledge for machine adjustments
