What skills and experience we're looking for

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development of SEND provision across West Park School.
• Oversee the identification, assessment, and support of pupils with SEND.
• Line‑manage and nurture a skilled team of support staff.
• Work closely with teachers to ensure inclusive, adaptive classroom practice.
• Coordinate EHCP processes, annual reviews, and communication with external agencies.
• Monitor the progress of SEND learners and use data to guide effective intervention.
• Contribute to whole‑school CPD and champion inclusive practice.
• Build strong partnerships with families and the wider community, reflecting the values of the West Park family.
• Model and promote Hard Work, Achievement, Resilience and Kindness in every aspect of the role.

• Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (or is willing to work towards it).
• Has a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current educational developments.
• Communicates with warmth, clarity, and empathy.

• Believes wholeheartedly in the potential of every young person.
