How would your dog like to play and learn in our home from home environment while you’re busy working or out for the day? Would you like peace of mind when leaving your beloved pet in the care of trained professionals? Located on Telford Way industrial estate in Thetford, just off of the A11. Pooch’s day care offers a DEFRA approved, safe, stimulating & CAGE FREE environment. Their friendly and qualified small team are experienced and knowledgeable in caring for all types of dogs. Thorough-out the day, their day care family are under constant supervision and the facility is secured by tall fencing and a double gated entrances. Their free roam multi award winning day care facility is made for all breeds of dogs and all ages, with plenty of opportunities for your pet to have energetic play time, rest and relaxation. They provide opportunities for your dog to make great friends and socialise in a safe environment giving you the peace of mind that your dog will have a great day.
An exciting apprenticeship opportunity to join a fun and friendly team in Norfolk. We are looking for someone who is passionate about dogs and giving them the best care.
The successful applicant will be required to:
Monitor play and behaviour among dogs.
Learn about appropriate play behaviours in the day care environment.
Participate in and lead group activities and games with dogs.
Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the centre.
Assist with feeding dogs following a feeding plan.
Take dogs out for toilet breaks.
Monitor the health and wellbeing of dogs.
Clean communal and public areas.
Assist with meet and greets.
Adhere to the schedule of activities set for each day.
Desired Skills & Qualities
A positive, can-do attitude
Hard working
A passion for animal care and canine welfare
A willingness to work with dogs of all shapes and sizes
Willingness to learn
Willingness to do the less pleasant jobs that go hand in hand with animal care, eg toileting
Desired Qualifications
GCSE maths and English Grade C/4 or equivalent is desirable, but not essential.
Applications MUST NOT already hold a level 2 or 3 in Animal Care, this will affect your eligibility and make your application unsuccessful.
Future Prospects
Further training and senior positions may be available on completion of your apprenticeship
Dog Handler/Trainer
Training Provided
Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 animal care Apprenticeship
The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
