We're seeking a committed and professional Security Officer to join our Gloucester team. You'll play a vital part in maintaining the safety and security of our people, sites, and information within a highly secure environment.
Please note: DV clearance is essential for this role and must be obtained before starting. The process can take up to 12 months and involves detailed background checks
Shift Pattern
This role operates on a 4 on, 4 off rotational pattern.
This provides excellent work‑life balance, predictable scheduling, and guaranteed rest periods
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this position, you must:
-Hold a valid SIA Licence
-Be a British citizen
-Have at least 5 years of checkable work history
Key Responsibilities
As a Security Officer, you will:
-Control site access for authorised staff
-Monitor CCTV and Access Control Systems
-Conduct internal and external patrols
-Complete daily alarm checks and respond to activations
-Manage visitor reception and maintain a professional front‑of‑house presence
-Provide out‑of‑hours support to the MDL Service Desk
-Deter unauthorised entry and conduct random searches
-Follow procedures for handling suspect packages
-Deliver security services across two sites
-Support team members and provide cover as required
-Undertake adhoc tasks to support operational needs
Person Specification
We're looking for someone who is:
-Experienced in security (desirable but not essential)
-A valid SIA Licence holder (CCTV qualification desirable)
-Professional, customer‑focused, and confident with IT systems
-Strong in communication and able to follow detailed procedures
-Willing to undertake ongoing training and development
-Able to meet KPIs, SLAs, and operational expectations
