ABOUT US
Transforming lives through excellent education
London Met is an extraordinary institution. Equity and social inclusion have always been our driving principles, and it's what makes the University so unique. Our organisation is distinctive, both in its eclectic and diverse community of students and staff, and also for its historical role in serving some of London’s most deprived boroughs. Everything we do is underpinned by our philosophy that an individual should have the opportunity to transform their life through the power of education.
Equipping our students with the tools for their future is at the heart of our academic offering. We pride ourselves on providing our students with access to a wealth of opportunities and professions. Our graduates benefit personally, but also contribute their unique perspectives to society, culture, public service and the economy in all areas of London, the UK and around the world.
ABOUT THE POST
This post is to support the ESRC UPIC project. This is a 30 month project examining the relationship between problem solving, environmental information and individual differences in problem solving and creativity. There will be a particularly focus on behaviours associated with the ADHD neurotype. The project involves placing participants in environments with meaningful resources and examining their performance across a range of tasks. You will work closely with the Senior Lecturer to conduct literature reviews, assist in designing and running participants at the Holloway Road Psychology Labs and undertaking quantitative and qualitative analysis of experimental data. This latter will be supported by a weeklong training session early in the contract. There will be opportunities to be involved more widely in the activities of the Neurodiversity Research Group as well as to attend key subject specific conferences.
You must be educated to at least MSc level with a strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods. You will have a strong interest in cognitive psychology particularly higher cognitive functions such as problem solving and creativity. Experience in running in laboratory experiments is desirable.
Closing Date: Friday, 13 March 2026
Interviews due to be held in week commencing 23 March 2026.
