Summary
The Trust is looking to appoint 2 Post CCT Fellows to join its busy Paediatric department.
Applicants should hold a certificate of completion of specialist training in Paediatrics or equivalent and be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and experience within the field of general paediatrics.
The successful candidate (s) will join a motivated and supportive team provide the consistent delivery of acute paediatric services across inpatient wards, paediatrics assessment unit (PAU), the Emergency Department (PED), out-patient services and provide on-call cover as part of the resident middle-grade on-call rota. The post will also provide independent general and specialist paediatric outpatient clinics.
Clinical: The Clinical Fellow colleagues will be responsible for both inpatient and outpatient work.
• Inpatient: The post holder will be expected to attend consultant ward rounds and will perform personal ward rounds on the patients admitted on call under the supervising consultant(s).
• Outpatient: The post holder will attend and run out patients general and speciality clinics independently (for SPIN holders) and will be supported to develop a special interest skills and competencies.
• On call rota: The post holder will be on call rota 1:12 resident.
The Post holder will have the opportunity to develop the managerial and leadership skills essential for the consultant role e.g. paediatric governance, teaching and supervision.

• The Doctor will be expected to show qualities of leadership but also to know their limitations and call for help and advice appropriately
• Liaise between nurses, other junior doctors, patients, relatives and senior medical staff
• Attend and participate in ward rounds and operating theatre sessions as timetable
• Attend general and specialist out-patient, diagnostic and pre-assessment clinics
