A permanent opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive company based in the heart of Gloucester. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a growing business, who is highly invested in supporting professional development opportunities.

The successful candidate will take full ownership of core bookkeeping and transactional finance activities across the organisation. Working closely with Project Accountants to ensure the accurate capture and allocation of scheme and project costs, while supporting management reporting, financial analysis, and reconciliations as required.

Responsibilities:
-Maintain accurate books of account, including sales and ledger purchase and bank reconciliations
-Manage supplier invoices from receipt through approval, posting, and payment
-Ensure correct VAT treatment and prepare VAT returns
-Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring accurate coding and strong controls
-Support month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
-Prepare and manage supplier payment runs
-Monitor short-term cashflow and support cash forecasting
-Improve invoice accuracy and financial paper trails across the business
-Support finance automation and efficiency improvements
-Document and embed finance procedures and best practice over aged creditors
-Maintain organised digital finance records to support audit and compliance requirements
-Provide a dependable, trusted finance presence across the wider business

Attributes:
-Previous experience in a similar finance role
-Strong attention to detail
-Confident working independently and collaboratively across departments
-Excellent communication and time management skills
-Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
Hours – Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm (one day per week working from home)

Salary – £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience + 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
