The post holder is responsible for and expected to work collaboratively with stakeholders, key partner organisations, service users and their carers, clinicians and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary teams across Essex. The post holder will, in additional to leading the planning and implementation of clinical services, will also have a key role in developments which contribute to the implementation of current and future national and local substances misuse strategies and clinical guidelines and NICE recommendations. They will enhance the work already undertaken within Criminal Justice services and stakeholders such as Essex County Council, Probation Services and the Police. The post holder is responsible for communicating with both service users and their families, Trust staff, advocates and other agencies internal and external, including Commissioners, Police, ECC and Her Majestys Prisons. To support EPUTs Criminal Justice team in their assessments where substance misuse and mental health is a dominant feature. To contribute to raising awareness and understanding about the impact of substance misuse and reoffending across a range of services. To promote effective communication and joint working between all providers of services within the Essex Criminal Justice system. To input into the MAPPA, Prevent and Channel Panel and MARC, MARAT act as an expect consultant and to ensure those are identified for treatment are supported. The post holder will be responsible for managing and facilitating potentially emotional and distressing situations and information in a confidential and appropriate manner, taking all appropriate actions where necessary. The post holder will have strong links with the Dual Diagnosis workers across Essex to enable a prompt referral to Mental Health Services as necessary. To support all individuals working with criminal justice services to gain greater cohesion, closer joint working and seamless access to clinical services, regardless of their need. To work jointly on overly complex cases, ensuring risks are identified and specialist treatment and appropriate recovery services are involved to ensure maximum impact. To ensure that in accordance with NICE guidelines the delivery of service provision to individuals with dual diagnosis is mainstreamed in mental health services. To work with the health/social care system to ensure that there is an understanding of the role of the dual diagnosis workers and how they complement the mainstream provision. To promote the involvement of families/carers/social systems in the delivery of care/treatment to individuals with a dual diagnosis. To be responsible for policy implementation and introduction of service developments. To ensure that effective and appropriate performance management and monitoring systems and processes are in place, and produce information as requested relating to performance on activity, finance and human resources to the Associate Director of Social Care. Develop and implement strategies relating to Clinical Governance, Effectiveness, Quality and Development, which underpin continuous quality improvement. Lead the implementation of locality partnership strategies to achieve increased service alignment/integration. Promote public involvement ensure meaningful involvement is at the core of all locality service provision, include all relevant and best practice Harm Reduction advice, information and service provision including signposting to appropriate substance misuse treatment and recovery services. Ensuring all service systems are used correctly and update as required. To adhere to policies and procedures as may be laid down by ECC, EPUT and Safeguarding procedures.
