We are currently looking for a dedicated and customer-oriented Catering Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of our on site café, deli and barista service. Key duties include food preparation, serving customers, maintaining food storage and preparation areas in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and audit standards, and adhering to the Food Code of Practice. You will also assist with operating the till, monitoring stock levels, and checking in deliveries to ensure stock is up-to-date and correctly accounted for. You will also receive training for the Barista coffee service as this will form part of your role too.

Additionally, you will complete daily and weekly cleaning schedules, following all security and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment for both employees and customers. As a Catering Assistant, you will also be expected to maintain a high standard of personal presentation in the provided uniform, meeting customer expectations at all times. Working as part of a team, you will help deliver excellent service when dealing with products, sales, and fulfilling customer catering needs. Your role is crucial in ensuring that we consistently provide a high standard of service to our customers while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.

Key duties include:

-Provide an exceptional customer experience

-Ensuring temperature control records and logs are being kept up to date

-Serving hot and cold foods on our deli counter

-Stock taking and stock rotation

-Use of tills and use of cashless systems

-Maintain high levels of health and hygiene

-Preparing and serving freshly made Barista coffee

-Awareness of food & hygiene standards

-The ability to communicate effectively with staff and visitors

-Able to work under pressure, individually and as part of a team with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business.

You will also receive training for the Barista coffee service as this will form part of your role too.

Person Specification:

-Good literacy and communication skills and have excellent verbal and written English

-Be computer and software literate

-Reliability, self- motivation and ability to use own initiative and work without supervision

-The ability to solve problems, make decisions and prioritise

-The ability, tact and diplomacy to deal with people at all levels

-Self-confidence and an interest in self-development

-An interest in the continuous improvement of the Company's performance
