WithYouWithMe is recruiting aspiring Network Engineers to form a deployable squad supporting one of our clients in a live operational environment.
This is not entry-level from scratch.
This is a structured “bridge to billable” pathway designed for near-ready IT professionals with live environment experience who want to deepen their network capability and accelerate into production roles.
Who This Is For
We are looking for professionals who have:
1–2 years’ experience working in a live IT environment
Exposure to infrastructure support, cloud support, NOC, SOC, telecoms or similar
Experience working with structured processes (tickets, escalations, change windows)
A solid conceptual understanding of networking fundamentals
You must understand (even if you haven’t configured yet):
IP addressing and subnets
VLAN segmentation
Basic routing logic
How traffic moves across networks
This programme is not suitable for complete beginners or career switchers without prior IT experience.
What You’ll Do
You will join a six-person squad and complete a structured development pathway before deployment into client-facing network roles.
Your role will include:
Troubleshooting network issues independently
Performing standard switch, router and firewall configurations
Executing changes through formal change management processes
Deploying network hardware and initial configurations
Performing patching, upgrades and firmware updates
Interpreting monitoring alerts and taking appropriate action
Conducting root cause analysis for common incidents
Maintaining accurate network documentation
Applying standard firewall rules and security baselines
Supporting vulnerability remediation activities
Structured Training & Development
Before deployment, you will undertake targeted upskilling including:
Cisco switching and routing fundamentals
Firewall configuration within defined templates
Enterprise monitoring tools
Change governance and safe implementation practices
Troubleshooting simulation exercises
Professional documentation standards
WYWM delivers core training in-house, with some advanced technical components provided via specialist external training partners where required.
The focus is on bridging you from capable IT professional to a Network Engineer in a secure, structured environment.
What We’re Looking For
You should demonstrate:
Confidence working in live service environments
Ability to follow structured guidance while taking ownership
Clear communication skills
A logical troubleshooting mindset
Professional discipline and maturity
Exposure to Cisco technologies, monitoring platforms (e.g. SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix) or ITSM tools (e.g. ServiceNow, Jira) would be advantageous.
Security Requirements
Candidates must be eligible for UK security clearance or have it in place already.
Why Join WYWM?
Structured pathway to billable enterprise capability
Deployment as part of a cohesive squad
Ongoing mentoring and oversight
Clear technical progression
Access to additional specialist training where required
If you are a near-ready IT professional looking to step into a true Network Engineering role with structured support and real deployment, we would love to hear from you.
