A Vacancy at Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and proactive person to join and take a lead role in our small CAMHS EIS team which is embedded within an adult EIS team in Camden. You will be employed by the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust and located within the North London Foundation Trust at a community base near Camden Town Underground station.
Our small, specialist team is comprised of a Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner, a Band 7 CAMHS Practitioner and a part time Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist. We also often have senior resident doctors on placement in the team. We offer an assertive outreach model to all young people in the borough presenting with psychosis between the ages of 14-18. Once accepted into our service we support our service users for 3 years so we also have many young adults on our caseload.
Your role will be to work closely with existing team members and provide care coordination to young people on our caseload and supervise others, which will involve working flexibly to provide a responsive and holistic service, including specialist consultations and assessments. Our aim is to form excellent relationships with young people and their families, carers and network and offer evidence-based treatment in order to improve outcomes for young people with psychosis in Camden. In addition there are opportunities to participate in the adult EIS daytime duty rota, join in with systemic family therapy work and to deliver CBT (or other psychological interventions) and FT for appropriately trained people.
We are fully involved with local teaching and actively support local research projects. There are many excellent professional development opportunities for the successful candidate provided by both the Tavistock and North London Foundation Trust.
