Job Title: Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant
Location: West Bromwich
Hours: 30 hours per week (flexible across 4–5 days)
Pay Rate: £15 per hour
Team Size: Finance team of 2

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant to join our small finance team in West Bromwich. This is a varied, all-round accounts role within a close-knit team of two, offering exposure across the full finance function.

The role involves working with niche internal systems that are straightforward but will require someone confident in picking up new processes quickly. We are looking for a candidate who has experience working with multiple finance systems and can adapt easily to new software and ways of working.

This position would suit someone hands-on, organised, and comfortable in a small team environment where flexibility and teamwork are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase and sales invoices


  • Accounts payable and receivable management


  • Bank reconciliations


  • Credit control and account queries


  • Assisting with month-end processes


  • Maintaining accurate financial records


  • Supporting reporting and administrative finance tasks


  • Learning and operating internal finance systems


  • General accounts support across the business


    Skills & Experience Required

    • Previous experience in an all-round accounts role


    • Comfortable learning and using new or niche finance systems


    • Experience working with multiple accounting platforms


    • Strong Excel and general IT skills


    • High attention to detail


    • Ability to work independently in a small team


    • Adaptable and quick to learn new processes


    • Reliable with a strong work ethic
