We’re looking for a Service Team Member to join us at Arlington Court to support our busy teams across visitor operations. This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll help us meet targets, solve problems, and deliver great service across different departments within the Commercial Team.
For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.
What it's like to work here
Reporting to the Commercial and Welcome Manager, you’ll be part of the team in the Visitor Reception building at Arlington Court, working alongside the Welcome and Retail teams to deliver a great welcome and service to our visitors.
What you'll be doing
The core part of your job is to give vital and positive support to your colleagues, wherever you’re needed, with a focus on greeting and helping visitors. You’ll work mainly within the Visitor Reception building, working with both the Welcome and Retail teams, helping us meet service and targets. You’ll also be on hand to resolve customer issues in a friendly and helpful way. Tasks could include welcoming visitors, restocking shelves in the shop, helping to empty car park machines and answering questions to help people get the most out of their visit.
You'll be working on average 3 days a week, each shift being between 5 and 6.5 hours, depending on the time of year and how busy it is. In the winter months and when we are less busy the hours will reduce and there will be some time in January when Arlington is closed and you will not be required to work.
Who we're looking for
We’d love to hear from you if you’re:
focused on giving great service to everyone you meet
confident speaking with visitors and solving problems
a team player, but also happy to work on your own initiative
well-organised, adaptable, and flexible to work across different sites
willing to learn new skills and work towards shared goals
The package
The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.
• Substantial pension scheme of up to 10% basic salary
• Free entry to National Trust places for you, a guest and your children (under 18)
• Rental deposit loan scheme
• Season ticket loan
• EV car lease scheme (for roles that meet the salary criteria)
• Perks at work discounts such as gym memberships, shopping discount codes, cinema discounts
• Holiday allowance up to 32 days relating to length of service, plus holiday purchase scheme, subject to meeting minimum criteria.
• Flexible working whenever possible
• Employee assistance programme
• Free parking at most Trust places
