You will act as part of the national Portfolio Management Office’s ‘Benefits, Outcomes and Performance’ team. You will provide insights and analysis to governance boards and key stakeholders on the progress of the Environment Agency’s Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Investment Portfolio.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

1. Monitor performance of the portfolio against key performance indicators and metrics.
2. Analyse portfolio data from a wide variety of sources and systems to understand portfolio performance and highlight key risks and issues.
3. Develop engaging and informative charts and visuals that are audience-appropriate and follow data visualisation best practice.
4. Present insights and evidence to governance boards to enable informed decision making.
5. Lead, engage, and collaborate with local portfolio teams across the business to develop new processes, business intelligence reports, and ensure data is well-managed.
6. Contribute to knowledge sharing, innovation, and development of the team’s capabilities.
7. Respond to policy changes and develop and or adapt business processes.

The team

The Benefits, Outcomes and Performance team enables decision-making at internal and external governance boards. We play a leading role in communicating steers to teams across the country.

Experience/skills required

The role is diverse, challenging, fast-paced and changeable. Analytical skills, initiative, time management, prioritisation, building relationships, and project management skills are central. Effective communication skills, showing empathy and understanding of your audience is essential.

Desirable:
