Our Nursery Ethos
At Little Angels Uppingham, we believe in creating a ‘home from home’ environment where every child feels loved, safe, and nurtured. We follow a holistic approach to childcare, using the ‘cardboard box’ and curiosity approach to inspire children’s natural creativity, independence, and love for learning. Our setting values child-led experiences, natural resources, and open-ended play opportunities that spark imagination and allow each child to thrive at their own pace.

We are a community rooted in kindness, fun, and flexibility, with a deep commitment to building meaningful connections with children and their families.

Job Purpose
As a Nursery Educator, you will play a crucial role in creating an engaging, nurturing, and inspiring environment for children. You will plan and implement a range of child-led activities, observe and support each child’s individual development, and work closely with families to ensure every child’s unique needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
Create a Nurturing Environment: Foster a safe, caring, and inclusive space where children feel valued and respected.
Child-Led Learning: Facilitate open-ended, curiosity-driven play using natural and recycled resources, following the nursery’s ‘cardboard box’ and curiosity approach.
Build Relationships: Develop strong, trusting bonds with children and their families, providing regular feedback and updates on children’s progress.
Observation and Assessment: Observe and document children’s learning and development, contributing to individual plans and ensuring activities meet each child’s unique needs and interests.
Encourage Holistic Development: Support children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development through engaging and creative activities that promote independence and confidence.
Promote Well-being and Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by following safeguarding procedures, carrying out risk assessments, and maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
Work Collaboratively: Work closely with your team to share ideas, reflect on practice, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the setting.
Champion Positive Behaviour: Model and promote positive behaviour strategies, encouraging kindness, empathy, and cooperation among the children.
