Location: Bramcote Hills Primary School, Bramcote, Nottinghamshire, NG9 3GE
Pay Rate: £13.27 per hour
Hours: 35 hours per week (07:00 – 14:00)
Contract Duration: 16/02/2026 – 24/07/2026

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Kitchen to oversee the daily operations of a busy primary school kitchen serving approximately 280 meals per day. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organisational skills and a solid understanding of food safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the school kitchen

Prepare and serve high-quality meals to pupils and staff

Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and safeguarding regulations

Manage stock control, ordering, and budget effectively

Supervise, support, and motivate kitchen staff

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety at all times

Requirements

Level 3 Food Safety qualification (essential)

Enhanced DBS (essential)

Proven experience in catering, ideally within a school or high-volume environment

Strong leadership and organisational abilities

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
