Role: Production Manager (CNC Machining)
Status: Permanent
Working hours: 07:45 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday, 07:45 – 12:30 Friday
Location: Nr Wotton-Under-Edge
Salary: up to £60,000 per annum
I’m currently working alongside an established engineering business located near Wotton-Under-Edge, Gloucestershire, they are currently looking for to recruit a Production Manager to oversee their high-end CNC Machine Shop.
The role will suit a skilled CNC Leader with a broad range of sector experience, especially with aerospace production knowledge and excellent people management skills.
Key Responsibilities – Production Manager
• Production Planning & Execution: Create and manage daily, weekly, and monthly informal production schedules, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Offline Programming: Edgecam programming knowledge or another CADCAM package is fundamental to the role to both assist with incoming customer technical enquiries and programming of jobs for shopfloor.
• Workflow Optimization: Monitor manufacturing processes to identify and implement improvements that increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Quality Control: Establish and enforce quality standards for products, ensuring compliance with specifications and ISO requirements.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor production staff, including machinists and operators.
• Resource Management: Oversee inventory of raw materials, parts, and consumables to ensure seamless production, including sourcing or purchasing.
• Equipment Maintenance: Organise routine maintenance and repairs for machinery, minimizing downtime.
Qualifications & Requirements – Production Manager
• Experience: Proven experience in a production, manufacturing, or engineering environment, preferably within a small-to-medium enterprise (SME).
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, and technical procedures.
• Leadership: Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and manage a small team.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting abilities to address technical or production issues promptly.
• Communication: Effective communication skills for interacting with suppliers, clients, and senior management.
• Education: A degree or certificate in Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant technical field is often required
