Accounting Technician
Salary - Up to £30,000 depending on experience plus Veolia benefits
Location - Hybrid with office working in Shrewsbury at least 3 times a week
Hours - Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
We are looking for an Accounting Technician to join our Finance Team within the Treatment business. This role will have responsibility for assisting with the management and financial accounting of our brand new state-of-the-art plastics recycling facility, accurately reporting the financial position and supporting decision makers.

What you'll do
Main duties will include:
- Produce monthly journals, Management Accounts reporting, reconciliations and variance analysis in a timely manner for the PRF
- Liaise with operational teams to correlate operational performance to financial output.
- Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts for the areas of responsibility.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve balance sheet queries.
- Undertaking ad hoc project work as required and remaining compliant with all Veolia policies and procedures.
- Assist with annual audits.
The experience you will need
Essential:
- Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with multi-layer stakeholders and management.
- Have strong logic and analytical skills.
- Self starter, self-motivated, with strong time management skills.
- Strong organisation skills and a high degree of professionalism.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in monthly management accounts production to tight deadlines and providing relevant commentary and analysis to support.
- Proficient in google sheets
- Level 3 AAT
- Progression post AAT to Studying towards accounting qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
