Do you want to make a difference for a young person with autism?

Would you enjoy supporting them to develop their independence and social skills?
Are you able to commit to 4 hours of your time each week, (on an evening/ weekend)

Hourly Rate £12.40 per hour(gross) with 5.6 weeks pro rata holidays pro annum

To work with our son who has Autism. ADHD, Sensory issues and a PDA profile. Our son needs assistance and close supervision to access activities in the community and to access transport. The PA will also need to support our son’s personal care, by helping him with his toileting and dressing needs. And support him with periods of dysregulation with a therapeutic approach. Authoritative tones/ language must be avoided.

Support Tasks· Accompany our child to activities in the community (i.e. social, educational etc.)· Encourage our child to engage in activities and to develop his independence.· Suggest activities that our son would enjoy.· Assistance with toileting/personal care.· Accompanying the family on outings to assist with our son’s care requirements.· Supervise our son at all times.

What skills/ characteristics are required for the role?

  • Reliable and committed to ensuring young person is happy, safe, has fun and can try and learn new skills.
  • Experience of working with children, SEND experience highly desirable.
  • To ensure young person is safe and always supervised.
  • Common sense and good communication skills.
