What skills and experience we're looking for
We have a vacancy for a Site Supervisor who will manage all aspects of the estate, including health and safety and the Site Team. As the role is both operational, as well as managerial, the postholder will be required to have a ‘hands on’ approach and lead by example as a good proportion of the role will involve practical site activities.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for opening/closing the school, providing a clean, healthy and safe environment for users of the school buildings/grounds and gardens. The role will involve carrying out maintenance and repair work, requiring non-specialist skills, to the school buildings, grounds, fixtures and fittings, general lifting and assisting the premises team with cleaning duties.
You must have practical DIY skills, and proficiency in the operation of machinery, an understanding and ability to support the implementation of relevant policies including Health and Safety and CoSHH would be an advantage.
The successful applicant should be a good communicator and happy to lead a small team, and work on their own initiative. A flexible approach is very important.
