Your new company
You'll be joining a well‑established UK energy organisation responsible for operating a specialist power facility in Deeside. The site has transitioned from traditional generation to providing advanced grid‑stability services, using converted turbine units to support the national electricity network through inertia and reactive power capabilities.

Your new role
As an Electrical Inspector / Quality Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and compliant operation of the site's electrical assets and supporting infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Inspecting electrical systems, equipment and installation work to ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards and internal procedures.
  • Conducting tests on electrical systems, components and protection schemes to ensure safe and efficient performance.
  • Identifying non‑conformances, documenting inspection results, and advising on corrective actions where required.
  • Reviewing electrical plans, specifications and work packs to ensure installation and maintenance activities meet required standards.
  • Supporting inspections and QA processes on high‑voltage assets, rotating equipment used for synchronous compensation, switchgear, transformers, and associated plant.
  • Collaborating closely with engineers, technicians and contractors to ensure safe working practices and correct execution of electrical activities.
  • Producing clear and accurate reporting on electrical compliance, testing outcomes and inspection activities.

This is a technically interesting position within a safety‑critical, grid‑stability environment rather than a traditional power‑generation setup, giving the successful candidate exposure to significant innovation within the industry.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong experience in electrical inspection, electrical QA/QC, or electrical compliance roles within power generation, utilities, substations, HV/LV systems, or industrial electrical environments.
  • Working knowledge of inspection testing, electrical codes/standards, and processes such as ITPs, NCRs, FAT/SAT and commissioning.
  • Good understanding of HV/LV equipment, switchgear, transformers and rotating electrical machinery.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and installation standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and escalate compliance issues.
  • A proactive approach to safety and working within safety‑critical environments.
  • Commutable distance to the Deeside site.

What you'll get in return

  • The opportunity to work on a world‑leading grid‑stability project, supporting cutting‑edge synchronous compensation technology.
  • Long‑term career potential, with the site undergoing continued development and investment, including future renewable‑enabling projects.
  • A role where your expertise directly contributes to the security and stability of the UK power system.
  • Competitive pay structure with options for permanent or contract engagement, depending on your preference.
  • A strong safety culture and supportive, experienced engineering environment.
