Job Description: At Gregory Distribution, we are seeking a Key Account Handler to support our key customers by coordinating deliveries, maintaining accurate data, and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations. You'll work closely with internal teams, resolve issues quickly, manage returns, and support KPI reporting to help us consistently deliver excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key customers contacts.
- Communicate internally and with customers through email, telephone and teams.
- Update customer systems with scheduled collection and delivery time slots.
- Liaise with internal transport planners, warehouse teams and sub-contractors to ensure efficient processes are delivered and all collections and deliveries are running as planned.
- Utilise customer specific Transport Management Systems (TMS) to import, review and manage delivery data.
- Monitor GDL and customer specific tracking systems to ensure real-time visibility.
- Communicate all delays or issues back to the customer promptly.
- Ensure all data is accurately inputted into internal systems to support complete and reliable OTIF reporting.
- Record, manage and maintain a robust returns/refusals process in line with customer contractual agreements (these will vary by customer).
- Manage and administer all time change requests from planning teams, confirming changes directly with the customer.
- Attend daily and weekly customer service calls, including presenting KPI data where required.
- Complete weekly KPI trackers for each customer.
- Continually identify areas of improvement highlighted through the close working relationship with the customer.
- Identify additional contractual charges for demurrage and redeliveries.
- Ensure all operations comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and Safe Systems of Work at all times, recognising their critical importance to the business.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working within the Transport, Logistics industry.
- Proven experience in customer service/account management.
- Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
- Excellent organisation skills and ability to prioritise workload with a proactive approach.
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS packages, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
