Hours: 36.66 hours per week (days and hours can be flexible)

Role Overview:

Oldham Council is pleased to offer an excellent opportunity to join our dedicated Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Hub. Following recent service developments, we are entering a forwardthinking phase focused on delivering safe, effective, and personcantered responses under the Mental Health Act.

The Oldham AMHP Hub is led by a committed AMHP Lead/Manager and includes a skilled team of qualified AMHPs, all working to uphold the AMHP Practice Standards, ensure robust decisionmaking, and provide highquality interventions for people experiencing mental health crisis.

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated professionals who are passionate about safeguarding the rights, wishes, and wellbeing of individuals. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative working environment, where reflective practice, professional development, and staff wellbeing are prioritized. Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the provision of quality and timely assessments working within legal frameworks.
  • Maintain appropriate records of work undertaken and carry out required administrative procedures
  • Contribute to the evaluation and development of services and new ideas by sharing knowledge about theory, skills and practice
  • Support colleagues undertaking their AMHP training


Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

  • Professional Qualification and registered with a professional body including current AMHP Approval status
  • Detailed knowledge of the relevant legislation, codes of practice, national guidance & government initiatives connected with service delivery in Mental Health.
  • Experience of prioritising own workload, setting objectives & maintain accurate records.
