We are looking for committed and compassionate professionals to join our team, who share our enthusiasm for changing lives.About the Service - Women and Children's ServicesWe run services and dedicated women’s centres for those who are at risk or struggling with challenging circumstances, including women in the criminal justice system and those with experience of trauma, selling sex or sexual exploitation. We understand that women and girls have experiences which are different to men and can experience vulnerabilities that are specific to their gender. Childhood abuse and domestic abuse are common features in the lives of the women we support which impact on their health and wellbeing. Underpinning all our services is an in-depth understanding of trauma and a focus on recovery, resilience and community integration.About the JobIn the North East Changing Lives have been providing gender specific services to women involved in the Criminal Justice System for 12 years. Women become involved in the Criminal Justice System for a complex range of reasons. In our gender specific services we provide holistic support to women by women, to overcome challenges and address needs, enabling them to successfully move-on from services and live fulfilling, crime free flourishing lives.As a Specialist Integrated Resettlement Coach you will closely with Women involved within the criminal justice system to ensure they have wrap around support in the weeks prior to release, on day of release and the weeks after release into the community. You will be required to support women with overcoming issues around their:AccommodationFinance, Benefits and DebtsEmployment, Training and EducationFamily and Significant OthersLifestyle and AssociatesSocial InclusionDependency and RecoveryYou will support women through a strength based and trauma informed approach to reduce the likelihood of further offending. As well as making referrals to other community support provisions. Within this role no two days will be the same, this job role will be based both within custody and community, therefore applicants must be flexible with regards to working environment. You will work closely with an already established team of Specialist Custody Coaches based within HMP/YOI Low Newton and Specialist Community Coaches based in Northumbria. We are seeking dynamic, personable, tenacious, highly motivated and empathic individuals to do these roles, who can manage their own workloads but who also value being part of a multi-disciplinary team in prison and also a wider community Changing Lives team and partners where applicable. Applicants must be confident in their approach to working with women with a criminal justice background, whilst being able to build a good repour and professional relationships with women quickly.
