As a Driver Support Worker, you’ll do more than just drive, you’ll help adults across Hertfordshire access our day services, where they can engage in meaningful activities, connect with others, and enjoy a change of scenery. Your role is key to supporting independence, wellbeing, and community inclusion—making every journey truly worthwhile.
About the Role
As a Driver Support Worker, you will:
- Hold a valid UK Driving Licence with Category D1 entitlement (typically present on licences issued before 1997 or obtained via an additional driving test).
- Ensure vehicles are roadworthy by conducting daily and weekly checks.
- Support individuals with and without mobility equipment in and out of vehicles, using tail-lifts and ramps where necessary.
- Assist with personal care tasks, including bathroom support, mobility aids, and dietary needs (training provided).
- Participate in activities with the people we support, both on and off site.
- Perform manual handling tasks, including bending, crouching, and kneeling.

About you
Essential:
A valid UK Driving Licence with Category D1 entitlement (please check before applying).
Previous experience driving larger vehicles and working as part of a team.

Physically able to meet the demands of the role.
