Summary
Location: Portland, Dorset
Days & Hours: 8-10 hours a week, these hours will be over 2 days 4-5 hours per day. This will be planned in advance with Case Manager and the client.
Pay: £15.00 per hour Monday - Friday
Driver required? Essential, would require business insurance (mileage will be paid)
Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Yes, On duty and to attend trainings
Essential: Supporting adults with a disability and with reduced motivation
Desirable: Experience working with adults with disabilities and an interest in therapy
Family Pets: 2 dogs

Michael, born in 1977, and lives with his fiancé and two children. Michael loves old bangers and has been known to buy and sell them frequently! He loves tinkering with old cars and in the past, he enjoyed horse riding.
Michael has Achondroplasia, which he has had from birth and an incomplete spinal cord Injury. He finds that he has reduced mobility, stamina and is unable to climb stairs. He also has reduced motivation, initiation and needs support at times to reason through decisions that need to be made. He finds it difficult to establish a routine and get out of his property on a regular basis. He would like to get involved in hobbies and leisure of his choice at home and in the community and feel more independent.
Michael is looking for an experienced buddy to support him in developing his ability to get out of his property, become involved in hobbies and leisure activities of his choice, feel more active and have assistance and support in managing paperwork and becoming more organized, you will be able to go on dog walks with Michael. This job will suit someone who is calm but very proactive and able to bring lots of enthusiasm to the role.
