We are a family-run handblown glass gallery and gift shop in Hawkshead, showcasing glass art, local makers, and unique, thoughtfully chosen products.
The Role
We are looking for a friendly and reliable Part-Time Sales Assistant to join our team. This role involves working independently for much of the time, so confidence and initiative are important.
You will be responsible for:
• Welcoming and assisting customers
• Operating the till and handling payments
• Maintaining beautiful, inviting displays
• Restocking and keeping the shop organised
• Supporting and promoting local artists and makers
• Opening and closing the shop (full training provided)
Who We’re Looking For
We would love to hear from someone who is:
• Friendly, warm, and confident with customers
• Reliable and comfortable working independently
• Creative, with a good eye for displays and presentation
• Interested in handmade products and small businesses
• Retail experience is helpful but not essential — personality and attitude matter most.
Due to limited public transport to Hawkshead, applicants will need to ensure they can reliably travel to and from the shop for their shifts.
Hours & Flexibility
• 3 set days per week (we can be flexible on days – so let us know if you have preferences)
• Additional hours may be available during busy periods or to cover holidays (offered on a voluntary basis)
