Summary

Title: Housing Officer

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contact till January 2027, Part time – 17.5 hours

Salary: Pro Rata - £16,094 per annum to £17,797 per annum (Regional salary), dependant on experience (Nb. Full Time Equivalent £32,188 - 35,593 per annum)

Reporting Office: Trafford, Manchester

Working Location: Trafford/Lancashire/Cheshire/Preston and other NW Locations

Persona: Agile Worker: 20% - 40% of contractual hours to be worked from reporting office/working location (hybrid working)

Working Pattern: 2.5 days between Monday to Friday – 1 with of these days being in the office

Closing Date: 26th February 2026 - 23:00

Would you like to join our Tenancy Sustainment Team as a Tenancy Sustainment Officer (Housing Officer) and help us to deliver an excellent service for residents? This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who is a customer-focused team player who wants to make a difference.


Your Impact in the Role:



This role will have specific responsibilities pertaining to the delivery of Housing Management functions to our customers, in particular working with the Estate Officer in managing communal and external areas.
Work with the Estate Officer to complete building checks including Fire Risk Actions, Removal of items in communal areas.
Investigate reports of untidy gardens from initial complaint, ensure procedure is followed and residents are supported in maintaining gardens, making referrals for support were necessary. Practice effective case management.
Investigate parking issues involving unauthorised, hazardous & abandoned vehicles
Assist property services colleagues in engaging vulnerable / hard to engage residents with access
Liaise with colleagues/contractors responsible for the delivery of estate management services and engage customers in neighbourhood inspections and act on their feedback to achieve service improvements.
Meeting performance goals against KPIs and targets.
Responding to enquiries from residents and other internal and external stakeholders as first point of contact and deal with a variety of tenancy management issues.
Providing cover for other Tenancy Sustainment Officers and Inspector (Estates) to ensure consistency of service and to maintain a high level of resident satisfaction.
Ensure tenancy management services delivered to residents living in Trafford and outside of the Trafford borough are of the same standard.
To support the Tenancy Sustainment Team in the day-to-day Housing Management function, ensuring the delivery of reliable, repeatable, and consistent services that residents value and are satisfied with.
Delivering a responsive, efficient, agile, high quality and customer focused housing management service.




What You'll Bring:



Full licence with access to a vehicle for work
Good at building relationships with people and be able to communicate well with colleagues and residents.
Able to problem solve and will pride yourself on your grit and determination. You’ll have a can-do attitude and be motivated by keeping promises to residents.
Excellent time management skills along with the ability to manage different priorities whilst adhering to important deadlines.
Committed to the provision of excellent customer service and be able to show initiative in a busy office environment while working as part of a team.
Organised, flexible and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience of using Microsoft office packages is also essential.
