Neway International are seeking a Housing Administration Officer to join our client based with Charnwood Borough Council.
Location: Southfields Council Offices, Loughborough, LE11 2TX
Hours: 37 hours per week
Start Date: 23/02/2026
Duration: 4 weeks (Project Work)

Charnwood Borough Council’s Housing, Planning, Regeneration and Regulatory Services division delivers essential support to residents across the borough. The Strategic and Private Sector Housing Service provides a wide range of administrative, operational, and customer‑focused functions to support housing needs, private sector housing, and statutory responsibilities.
The Role
The Housing Administration Officer will provide comprehensive administrative support across the Strategic and Private Sector Housing Service. This role supports multiple teams, manages key data and records, and ensures efficient service delivery to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver a full range of administrative duties including post handling, word processing, filing, data entry, and telephone enquiries.
Manage service mailboxes, resolving customer and partner queries promptly.
Maintain and input data into spreadsheets and databases to support government statistical returns and performance monitoring.
Organise consultation events, partnership meetings, and team meetings, including minute‑taking and venue arrangements.
Monitor and log complaints using the corporate complaints system.
Administer petty cash and maintain stationery stock levels.
Raise orders and receipt goods using the Council’s financial management system.
Circulate newsletters, leaflets, and mailshots as required.
Maintain stocks of advisory leaflets and housing application forms.
Conduct customer satisfaction surveys and record results.
Protect and manage information securely in line with Council policies.
Private Sector Housing Duties:
Contact customers and professionals regarding grant referrals and arrange required information.
Administer housing‑related grants, maintain records, chase quotations, and liaise with builders and partners.
Monitor grant repayments and land charge data.
Process grant invoices and maintain financial schedules.
Assist with maintaining the empty homes database.
Register HMO and caravan site licence applications and maintain licence registers.
Assist with preparation of statutory notices and licences.
Housing Needs Duties:
Check new housing applications and change‑of‑circumstance notifications, ensuring correct documentation.
Support customers with completing housing applications.
Maintain accurate housing register and assessment lists.
Assist with annual reviews of the Housing Register and Garage Waiting List.
Place bids on Choice Based Lettings for vulnerable clients.
Monitor void property status and upload property adverts.
Manage key movements and update tenancy records.
Notify utility providers of tenancy changes.
Prepare and monitor invoices for CBL and bed & breakfast placements.
Administer the Garage Waiting List and allocate garages.
Issue travel tokens for temporary accommodation placements.
