Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) – Lead for New Male-Only Unit

We are passionate about providing the highest quality general nursing, residential and dementia care for older people.

As an established provider of care services, we are a highly professional organisation whose ethos is centred on quality, with the wellbeing and care of our residents as our highest priority. We are a family-owned business with family values at our core, supported by a growing team across sites throughout the UK.

We are now seeking a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our team and take a lead role in the development and implementation of our new male-only unit within the service.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced RMN to shape and embed best practice from the outset. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading the clinical development and safe opening of the new male-only unit

  • Establishing care pathways, risk management processes and therapeutic approaches appropriate to the resident group

  • Overseeing and supporting the nursing and care team within the unit

  • Promoting a safe, structured and person-centred environment

  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal governance frameworks

  • Responding to emergencies and providing clinical leadership during shifts

  • Supporting staff induction, development and supervision

  • Promoting safe working practices across the Home

You will work collaboratively with the Home Manager and wider leadership team to ensure the new unit reflects our commitment to quality, dignity and compassionate care.

Essential Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with valid NMC registration

  • Experience working in mental health services, ideally within older adult, dementia, complex behaviours, or challenging behaviour settings

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Experience in care planning, risk assessment and medication management

  • Ability to support service development and embed clinical governance frameworks

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Experience in dementia care, nursing care, respite care or palliative care would be advantageous.

We offer a range of employee benefits including a 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme, and the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping a new specialist service within a supportive and values-driven organisation.

Please note that all applicants offered employment will be subject to an enhanced criminal record check.
