Summary


We are looking for an experienced nurses to join our team in our busy Emergency Departments as a Band 7 Sister or Charge Nurses. This is an fantastic opportunity for enthusiastic and experienced Emergency Nurses to join us during a transformation of services including the building of a £220m new site due for completion in 2026. This will make UHD one of the largest EDs on the South Coast seeing approximately 450 patients a day at our new site.

Currently Poole Hospital is the trauma centre for Dorset and Bournemouth is the stroke centre and PCI centre. Whilst there will a base site allocated, thesuccessfulapplicants will be expected to work across sites as part of their rota.

All posts are subject to Internal Rotation to night duty and pro rata weekends/BH.

The role involves coordinating all aspects of the shift and being responsible for the delivery of quality care in a time pressured environment. Each Band 7 will also be responsible for the management of a team including the appraisal and development of staff.

You will be supported by a Senior Matron and two matrons plus a dedicated ED Clinical Education team and one of the largest cohorts of RCEM ACPs in the country.

UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service-specific questions at interview.

If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
