Long Term Futures is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and well-structured primary school in Muswell Hill (N10). This is a general classroom support role, ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and helping pupils build strong foundations in phonics, early maths and independent learning.
This position would suit an experienced KS1 TA or a graduate looking to build meaningful classroom experience in a supportive environment, with clear routines and strong staff collaboration.
About the Role
Working closely with the Year 1 class teacher, your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting whole-class learning during phonics, English and maths lessons
* Delivering small-group interventions in reading, writing and number work
* Assisting pupils during independent tasks to reinforce understanding
* Supporting classroom routines and promoting positive learning behaviours
* Encouraging confidence, engagement and progress across the curriculum
* Preparing resources and helping keep the classroom organised and purposeful
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Experience supporting pupils in KS1, or a strong desire to work in early primary
* Good understanding of phonics and early reading development
* Positive, patient and able to build strong relationships with young learners
* Proactive and confident supporting learning across the school day
* Reliable and committed to a long-term role
