Everyone that joins us is required to undertake training and participate in incident response duties when the need to respond arises Having an incident role is an essential part of working for the Environment Agency and an active way to support communities and prevent harm to the environment. We are creating a Project Delivery Profession Office to act as a centre of excellence for project delivery across the Environment Agency. This new team will support the Head of Profession by embedding consistent standards, governance and professional support.

As a Project Delivery Profession Officer, you will provide essential operational and administrative support to the Profession Office. You will help maintain professional standards, support reporting and assurance activities, and ensure accurate records relating to capability, accreditation and compliance.

The role will involve coordinating information, supporting governance processes, and assisting with communications and engagement across the project delivery community. You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, contributing to the smooth running of the Profession Office and enabling senior leaders to make informed decisions.

This role is ideal for someone who is organised, detail-focused and keen to develop their understanding of project delivery and professional governance. It offers a valuable opportunity to build experience within a new centre of excellence and contribute to improving how projects are delivered across the Environment Agency.

The team

The Project Delivery Profession Office is a newly established function acting as a centre of excellence for project delivery across the Environment Agency. Its primary objective is to support the Head of Profession by strengthening professional standards, capability and assurance. The team focuses on developing and maintaining frameworks for governance, learning and career pathways, providing insight through data and reporting, and enabling a connected, high-performing project delivery community aligned to government standards.

Experience/skills required

You will have experience in a professional or administrative role, supporting processes, governance or reporting within a structured environment. You will be organised and detail-focused, with the ability to manage information accurately and meet deadlines.

You will bring strong communication skills, with experience of coordinating information, supporting meetings or engaging with a range of colleagues. Confidence in using systems, maintaining records and following defined standards or procedures is essential.

You should be comfortable working as part of a team, providing reliable support while developing your understanding of project delivery and professional governance. An interest in building experience within a professional or centre-of-excellence environment would be
