A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 6-year-old boy living in the Mountain Ash area. I would like a Personal assistant to take me out in the community and to support me doing the things I enjoy doing which includes going to Dragons Den or just to the local park. I would also like to go swimming and would like you to join me.
At the moment I am having tests for Autism and ADHD but that hasn’t stopped me from being me. I am a typical 6-year-old and am very verbal with what I want and don’t want. I have no road sense so would have to hold my hand when we are out in the community. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with big crowds or loud noise, but my face will tell you if I am not comfortable in a situation and I will also make you aware.
PURPOSE OF JOB
· To support me out in the community and maybe try new places with me.
HOURS OF WORK
· 6 hours per week to be worked over 2 days.
RATES OF PAY
· £14.00 per hour plus mileage when using own care.
TASKS INVOLVED
· Supporting me to go out and about.
· Always supervising me to make sure I am safe.
· Help me find new activities and places to go.
· Take me to the park.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
· Driver with access to own vehicle.
· Someone vigilant, present in the moment and always pays attention.
· Someone friendly, approachable and has patience.
· Someone punctual and reliable as routine is very important to me.
· Someone quite active and energetic.
· Flexible with hours of work.
· Positive approach to the job.
· Confident and able to work on your own initiative.
· Respectful of other people’s homes and property.
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid 4 weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.
The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
