Summary
Our client is looking for a personal assistant to support their son, who has Epilepsy and complex
needs, and requires support with personal care, recreational activities and accessing the community.
He uses a wheelchair at times, and is non-verbal, but can communicate his needs in gestures and
sound.
The successful candidate should be proactive and alert, identifying when wellbeing and health is at
risk of decline. They should also be engaging and creative – our client’s son is open to any source of
entertainment or activity, inside or outside the home. He particularly enjoys movement and
interactions that meet his sensory needs.
There may be occasions where the successful candidate will need to administer medication - training
will be provided. Our client’s son also has a PEG tube fitted.
The role is 12 hours per week during school holidays, paid at £12.21ph. Although the preference is
for hours to be worked on Mondays and Tuesdays, hours are to be negotiated with the employer.
The role is based in Keadby, Scunthorpe.
Driver essential, due to location.
Due to the nature of the role an enhanced DBS will need to be completed, which we will fund.
