Job Title: Support worker/Personal Assistant

Hours per week: 4 hours a week during school holidays (flexible days/times to be discussed at interview).

Location: Colwyn Bay, Conwy

Rate of pay: £14.80 per hour

About me:

I am a warm, sensitive, very friendly autistic 8-year-old girl with ADHD, seeking a Personal Assistant to support me with stimulating and playful activities during school holidays (13 weeks of the year). I enjoy being taken to the promenade in my pushchair, playing with toys at home, soft play, climbing and swimming. As I enjoy physical activities, a good level of fitness may be required to take me out and keep up with me. Driving will likely be required for activities outside the home, so a full driving licence and access to a car with appropriate business insurance cover is highly desirable. I require 1:1 supervision at all times to keep me safe.

Tasks and duties, to include any or all of the following:

To provide support in relation to existing favoured activities, such as going to the promenade (likely being pushed in a pushchair), playing at home, climbing, soft play, and swimming.
Excursions in the car may be undertaken, meaning access to a vehicle and appropriate business insurance cover will be necessary.
Provide one-to-one care and attention at all times.
To always carry a mobile phone. This must be kept charged, for use in an emergency.
It is essential that you have patience and excellent observation and interpersonal skills, to ensure needs are met.
Any other duties not mentioned but that fall within the scope of this role should be discussed and then mutually agreed. Willing to undertake any further training if required.

What you can expect from me:

A safe, friendly, and welcoming workplace where you will be valued.
Flexibility with working hours.
Supervision and support.
Access to training and learning opportunities.
5.6 weeks annual leave (pro-rata).
Competitive rates of pay.
Knowing that you provide essential support, making a real difference to my family’s quality of life.

The kind of person I am looking for is someone who:

Will promote and support confidence and independence.
Has a person-centered approach and a genuine interest in supporting people to achieve their goals.
Can follow instructions and will establish a professional standard of care, to be always maintained.
Will not use their personal mobile phone at work unless in an emergency.
Is trustworthy, kind, punctual and reliable.
Is patient and supportive with good listening skills and an ability to provide non-judgmental emotional support.
Maintains confidentiality and respects the privacy of the family, including the prohibited use of social media in relation to the job role.
Can work flexibly, adapting to the variable requirements of this role as required.

The role is dependent upon a DBS and 2 references.

We are not able to offer sponsorship so proof of Right to Work in the UK is essential.

Please be aware that this role is being advertised on behalf of an individual employer and you will not be employed by The Rowan Organisation, nor will we be held responsible for any situation arising from your employment.
