The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Public Health Practitioner. Join a passionate and high performing team that are committed to supporting you and your professional development.
You will support the delivery of a portfolio of Public Health work areas to improve population health and wellbeing outcomes in Bolton which contribute to reducing health inequalities.
As part of the Public Health Team, you will part of developing key public health programmes, in partnership with other council directorates, local health and social care system, wider public and private sector, the community, voluntary and faith sector, and local communities.
You will support the commissioning of key public health programmes across a range of specific areas, including the regular review of interventions and services, using an outcomes-based approach.
It is expected that this role would be working from Bolton Town Hall (or attending meetings/events in Bolton) for at least half of the working week in line with the Councils Hybrid Working Policy.

About You
The successful candidate will have a degree or post graduate degree in Public Health or related discipline.
You will be able to build strong partnerships, engage with local people and communities, and work collaboratively across a range of sectors to deliver place-based population health, and prevention approaches that improve health and wellbeing and reduce inequalities.
You will be able to develop, implement and monitor public health strategies and plans to improve population health and wellbeing outcomes, and you must be self-motivated and innovative whilst also working well within a team.
You will use your skills of leadership, networking, negotiation and influencing: ensuring involvement, engagement and consultation, to improve health and reduce the health inequalities in Bolton.
