Your role:

Join our new Adult Social Care Transport team and play a key role in delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality transport for vulnerable adults across Wigan Borough. This is a rewarding opportunity to ensure people with diverse needs can access essential day services with dignity, independence, and confidence.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate daily transport operations for adult social care, making sure services run smoothly, efficiently, and in line with local policy.
  • Support modernisation and improvement of the service, including digital systems, data driven planning, budget monitoring and new ways of working.
  • Champion safety and complianceoverseeing safeguarding, health & safety and CQC standards, and ensuring our accessible fleet meets DVLA and VOSA regulations.
  • You'll be at the heart of ensuring vulnerable adultseach with unique physical, cognitive, or complex health needsreceive safe, respectful and dependable transport every day.

About you:

We are looking for someone that has transport operations experience and confident with digital planning tools. You will need to be:

  • Strong with data, compliance, safeguarding and safety standards.
  • Clear communicator with a calm, solutions-focused approach.
  • Great with people, understanding diverse needs and disabilities.
  • Organised, resource savvy, and aligned to Wigan’s values.
