Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic Locum Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery with an interest in Facial Deformity for a 24-month FTC post.

Applications are invited for this position of Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to join and expand the existing consultant team, working jointly with colleagues in Orthodontics.

The post would suit a committed and compassionate individual with completion of training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery to Consultant level, with a subspecialty interest Facial Deformity & Orthognathic Surgery and with a passion to develop the Surgical aspect of the service. We are keen to ensure that the post works for you and would be interested in hearing from people that may want to work part-time or flexibly or on a full-time basis.

Applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register, or within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / EU equivalent certification at the time of interview.

Reason for FTC - There is a service review underway. There is a possibility that this post will become Permanent, depending on further service changes.

As a senior employee of the Trust, you will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust's patients.

Integral to these responsibilities are the following:

The provision of a first-class clinical service. Effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty. Undertaking all work in accordance with the Trust's procedures and operating policies Conducting clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Trust's service plans Maintaining the confidence of business plans and development strategies formulated for the specialty.
