Applications are invited for the full-time position of EP Senior Clinical Fellow in Cardiology and Electrophysiology at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre, Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

We are able to offer a fixed term (12 months) full time post for a EP Senior Clinical Fellow with expertise and experience in cardiac electrophysiology.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to the cardiology service, helping the 5 existing electrophysiologists provide a comprehensive EP service to the patients of Lancashire and South Cumbria.

The post holder will be expected to work in close collaboration with other Consultant Cardiologists involved in delivering cardiology services, and to contribute to the further development and expansion of the service as a whole.

Experience of all EP procedures, leadership skills and a commitment to new developments are essential.

As this is a post CCT role the candidate will not be expected to participate on the Registrar on call rota.

The Lancashire Cardiac Centre is a regional centre providing tertiary cardiology services to Lancashire and South Cumbria. The EP service has expanded significantly over the last 5 years and provides a comprehensive arrhythmia service to the local population. Over 800 ablations are performed annually including simple and complex ablation. The unit benefits from 4 catheter labs, 2 of which are fully equipped for interventional EP. There are 4 mapping systems (2 Carto, 1 Precision and 1 Rhythmia), and the department is contributing towards the National pulsed field ablation registries (Farapulse & Vanpulse).

The Lancashire Cardiac Centre also provides PCI (including regional primary PCI, simple and complex devices, TAVI and tertiary heart failure care as well as a full complement of diagnostic cardiac services). The department is also involved in on-going research projects. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to research projects with the EP team.

There will be no commitment to on call cover.
