An inclusive and well-established 4-form entry primary school in Edgware, Barnet, is seeking a dedicated and motivated Year 5 Class Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis with an ASAP start.

The Role:
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 5 class, working closely with parallel class teachers to deliver high-quality teaching and learning in line with the National Curriculum.
This role would suit:
An experienced Key Stage 2 teacher, or
A confident ECT with strong KS2 placements and support needs
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that meet the needs of all learners
Teach the Year 5 curriculum effectively, ensuring progression and challenge
Assess, monitor and track pupil progress, adapting teaching to support and extend learning
Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
Work collaboratively with year group colleagues on planning, assessment and moderation
Communicate effectively with parents, carers and colleagues
Contribute to staff meetings, training and whole-school initiatives
Support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development
Uphold safeguarding, behaviour and school policies at all times
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5 (or strong relevant placements)
Strong knowledge of the primary National Curriculum
Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
Good behaviour management and classroom organisation skills
A commitment to inclusive practice and high expectations for all pupils
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
