Certifying Team Leader (Part 145) (044jc) – St Athan – up to £90k + Benefits
Senior Licensed Engineers – Step into Leadership.
If you’re a licensed B1 or B2 engineer with supervisory experience and you’ve led teams in high-tempo, regulated aviation environments this is a serious opportunity.
DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.
We’re recruiting a Certifying Team Leader to supervise and coordinate line maintenance activities within a Part 145 operation in St Athan.
This is a senior technical leadership role with certification privilege, operational authority, and direct impact on aircraft availability and commercial performance.
The Mission
You will lead day-to-day line maintenance operations ensuring aircraft are maintained safely, compliantly, and efficiently under EASA / UK CAA Part 145 approval.
You will act as the senior technical authority on shift.
This role combines:
• Certification responsibility
• Team leadership
• Operational coordination
• Regulatory accountability
• Commercial awareness
If you understand aircraft availability pressure, regulatory discipline, and team performance under time constraints this role will resonate.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
• Supervising daily line maintenance activity
• Exercising certification privileges under Part 66 authorisation
• Providing technical leadership during troubleshooting and defect rectification
• Allocating and adjusting workload in line with operational priorities
• Coordinating with Planning, Management, and external stakeholders
• Leading pre- and post-maintenance briefings
• Ensuring accurate completion of maintenance records and tech logs
• Reporting aircraft status and progress daily
• Supporting audits, investigations, SMS and continuous improvement
• Ensuring tooling control and calibration standards are maintained
• Mentoring and developing engineers and mechanics
Ideal Military Background
This role will strongly suit:
• RAF Licensed Engineers transitioning from military Part 145 environments
• Senior SNCO / WO Aircraft Engineers with civilian licences
• Royal Navy Air Engineering Senior Rates
• REME Aviation Artificers with B1/B2 conversion
• Experienced Certifying Engineers seeking a senior team leadership position
If you’ve acted as senior engineer on shift, controlled flight line activity, or held authorisation in a regulated environment your background is directly relevant.
What You’ll Need
• EASA / UK CAA Part 66 B1 and/or B2 Licence
• Relevant type ratings (or working towards)
• Strong knowledge of Part 145, Part M / CAMO requirements
• Previous Certifying Engineer experience
• Supervisory or team leadership background
• Understanding of SMS, Human Factors, and regulatory compliance
• Eligibility for airside passes and driving permits
In return they are offing a good starting salary of up to £90k with 25 days holiday, company pension, 3% employer and 5% employee, possible bonus scheme, depending on personal and company goals, as well as continuing personnel development within the company.
