Join a leading independent technology and services provider as a Technician 3
Job Overview: Seeking an On‑Site Support Engineer to provide deskside support at the Stevenage site, handling incidents, requests, hardware repairs, and user assistance across Windows 10/11, Office, Teams, and mobile devices. The role involves working independently, maintaining documentation, and supporting Tech Bar services. SC clearance required, with willingness to obtain DV if needed.

  • Location: Stevenage
  • Contract: 23rd Feb'26 - 26th Feb'27
  • Mandatory check: SC Clearance
  • Pay Rates:
  • Umbrella Rate: £25.77/hour (via a Hays approved umbrella company).
  • PAYE Basic Rate: £19.85/hour
  • Hours: 37.5 hours a week. Monday - Friday.
  • Time: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM


Key Responsibilities:

  • On-Site Desktop Support Engineer
  • 7.5-hour day to be worked according to local rota between 08.00 to 18.00
  • Required to perform deskside support incident & Request work at the Stevenage site. Wintel environment and HP laptop and desktop hardware support.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills & attention to detail
  • Effective communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Ability to build relationships with your colleagues, wider support teams, and partners at all levels across the business
  • Must be able to work alone and unsupervised, using initiative when necessary
  • A continuous improvement mentality to see and call out areas to improve customer experience
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of knowledge base articles and documentation for common issues.
  • Previous experience on a Tech Bar/Walk-up Support service
  • Experience in handling incidents and requests and updating ITSM tools with progress/resolution.
  • Microsoft Windows technical support experience
  • Good knowledge of Windows 10/11 and MS Office Suite
  • Competent in using and supporting Microsoft Teams and Skype
  • Able to support mobile technologies, Apple and Android
  • Familiar with building, configuring, and troubleshooting desktops and laptops
  • Perform hardware repairs on laptops and desktops
  • Minimum of SC clearance and must be willing to go through DV clearance if required
