Veterinary Surgeon | Small Animal | Norfolk
Independent Practice | Up to £70,000 DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established, independent practice in the beautiful Norfolk Broads. Due to continued growth, the team is expanding from two vets to three, creating a new permanent position.

This respected practice has been delivering high-quality veterinary care to pets across Norfolk for over 45 years. Located in a charming market town with easy access to Norwich, the area offers an excellent work-life balance, combining countryside tranquillity with convenient city links.

The Practice

This is a progressive, well-equipped small animal practice that actively encourages case work-ups and clinical development. Facilities include:

• Digital X-ray
• Internal Idexx laboratory
• Colour flow/Doppler ultrasound
• ECG
• Storz video endoscope
• Microscopy
• Blood pressure monitoring
• Capnography and ventilators
• Modern dental equipment
• In-house library and online journal access

The team consists of experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs), a student nurse, patient care assistants and dedicated reception staff, providing excellent clinical support. The practice owner has a special interest in cardiology, offering additional mentoring and development opportunities.

The Role

This Veterinary Surgeon position offers:

• 35–40 hour week (8:30am – 6:30pm)
• Mixture of consulting and surgical time
• Protected time for administration and study
• 15-minute consultations (longer if required)
• 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (8:30am – 1pm)
• No out-of-hours

The practice welcomes applications from confident vets comfortable with routine surgery and consultations. However, support is readily available, and applications are encouraged from less experienced vets, including recent graduates, seeking mentorship in a supportive environment.

Career Development

Professional growth is actively supported, including:

• Generous CPD allowance
• Funded CPD with paid time off
• Certificate funding for the right candidate
• Proven track record of developing veterinary surgeons

This role would suit a vet seeking a long-term position within a friendly, progressive and supportive team.

Relocation Support

• Accommodation available (annex for up to six months)

Salary & Benefits Package

• £35,000 – £70,000 DOE
• 4 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays (30–35 days total)
• Additional holiday with length of service
• RCVS, VDS and BVA/BSAVA fees paid
• Generous CPD allowance
• Certificate support
