A long-standing, independent mixed practice in County Mayo is now seeking a Farm Animal Vet to join their close-knit team of five vets. If you're looking for more clinical autonomy, a varied caseload, and a supportive environment where your development and wellbeing genuinely matter, this could be the perfect role for you.
This is primarily a farm animal-focused position, with the flexibility to get involved in companion animal work if desired. The practice is proud of its low turnover, team-first culture, and continued investment in both its people and equipment.
Whether you’re an experienced vet looking to put down roots and enjoy more control over your schedule, or a newer graduate with a strong interest in large animals, you’ll find the mentorship and freedom here to thrive.
What you’ll be doing:
• Clinical cattle work across progressive and traditional farms
• Seasonal sheep cases and preventative health care
• TB testing and involvement in Herd Health/TASAH programs
• Bull fertility testing
• Supported use of IMV Easi-scan and in-house faecal testing (Ovacyte)
Optional small animal work includes:
• Digital X-ray, ultrasound, dentistry, and in-house lab
• Appointment-based consults with full Teleos records
• Support from a skilled veterinary nursing team
