LOCATION(S): Bristol

HOURS: Full-time - 35 hours per week

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Bristol office.

About the Customer Data Services (CDS) Lab:

We're the team that looks after the customer data for the whole of Lloyds Banking Group. Our mission is to make this data available for the right purpose with the appropriate confidentiality and always ensuring a phenomenal engineering experience based on performance, resilience, and integrity.

The systems we support, underpin almost everything we do as Lloyds Banking Group. We maintain these systems with the highest standard, with an ambition to take ownership of the operational support 24/7 using SRE principles

What you'll do

  • We're looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to work within a highly proficient and productive engineering team instilled with a team ethos of testing and delivering high quality solutions for the bank and its customers.

  • You'll deliver customer driven testing solutions and quality software to take on business problems and realise value to customers through excellence in execution.

  • You'll implement the right level of Quality Engineering principles and artefacts across all testing types through Agile testing with an 'Automation First' approach.

  • Display broad and deep technical experience with a passion for engineering excellence.

  • You'll be curious about technology and understanding how things work and influence positively - demonstrating the right values and behaviours and encouraging this in team members.

What you'll need

  • Good Quality Engineering and Test Management experience across the entire test lifecycle.

  • An understanding of the importance of testing and the Quality Framework within LBG and the ability to educate other change teams.

  • Ability to work pro-actively to embed QE standard methodologies on various technology stacks.

  • Drive advanced software testing techniques using experience to apply test approaches such as risk based testing.

  • Develop robust automation suites in Java/Typescript/Python using the defined LBG automation framework, solve complex framework issues, and extend existing frameworks when required.

  • Incorporate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline.

  • Technical and practical usage skills in Java based API testing, Jenkins, Microservices, Selenium, BDD Cucumber

  • Hand-on experience using Jira/Xray for test management and Confluence.

  • Experience in Non-Functional testing with a focus on performance and reliability. Hands on experience with LoadRunner, Dynatrace and Splunk.

  • Experience in test automation, user acceptance testing and test data management

  • Building and Maintaining automation frameworks (RestAssured, TestNG, Selenium, Playwright, Junit)

It would be great if you also had

  • Experience with Source code management (Git, GitHub).

  • Understanding of Java / JavaScript / NodeJS / TDD / BDD Best Practices.

  • Experience in WebdriverIO, Cucumber and API automation solutions such as RestAssured / Karate /SOAP UI/ Postman.

  • Experience or working knowledge of security testing and Exploratory testing.

  • Understanding of testing within mainframe environments.

  • Experience for testing within Cloud (GCP/Azure/AWS) environments.
