The Role
We are seeking an experienced and committed Registered Manager to lead our Supported Accommodation provision for young people aged 16–18.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring full regulatory compliance, safeguarding leadership, quality assurance, and effective operational management of the service.
You will work closely with the Nominated Individual and senior leadership team to ensure the service operates to the highest standards and delivers positive outcomes for young people.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Safeguarding
• Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager.
• Ensure compliance with the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023.
• Maintain robust safeguarding procedures in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children.
• Lead on incident reporting, notifications to Ofsted, and regulatory submissions.
• Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections.
Leadership & Governance
• Provide effective leadership and supervision to team leaders and support staff.
• Ensure high standards of care planning, risk assessments, and key working practice.
• Implement internal quality assurance systems and audits.
• Produce regular management and compliance reports.
Young People’s Outcomes
• Promote independence, life skills, and preparation for adulthood.
• Support engagement in education, employment, or training.
• Ensure support plans are outcome-focused and regularly reviewed.
• Maintain effective partnership working with local authorities and external professionals.
Operational Management
• Oversee staffing, supervision, and performance management.
• Ensure safe staffing levels and rota oversight.
• Manage service budgets responsibly.
• Participate in on-call arrangements where required.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (England)
(or working towards completion within agreed timeframe)
• Minimum 2 years’ leadership experience within children’s residential, supported accommodation, or regulated care services.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and children’s social care frameworks.
• Experience with Ofsted inspection and regulatory compliance.
• Enhanced DBS check (required).
• Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
• Previous experience registering with Ofsted as a Registered Manager.
• Experience supporting young people with complex needs, trauma backgrounds, or mental health needs.
• Strong knowledge of quality assurance and risk management systems.
