Geography Graduate Teaching Assistant

Brent

High-Attainment Humanities Department

Starting Salary of £25,000

Teacher Training Pathway

Are you a Geography graduate with strong academic credentials and a passion for global issues?

Do you want to inspire the next generation to think critically about climate, development and geopolitics?

Are you serious about progressing into teacher training?

A high-performing secondary school in Brent is recruiting a Geography Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their Humanities department until July, with permanent opportunities available from September.

The department has strong GCSE outcomes and is known for high-quality curriculum design and ambitious teaching. Graduate TAs are fully integrated into the department and work closely with experienced Humanities teachers.

You will:

• Support Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Deliver small-group interventions targeting GCSE improvement
• Assist with fieldwork preparation and enrichment activities
• Support revision strategies and exam technique development
• Develop confidence in behaviour management and classroom presence

You will gain meaningful exposure to lesson planning, assessment tracking and curriculum delivery — positioning you strongly for a PGCE or Schools Direct application.

Role Overview:

• Full-time Graduate Teaching Assistant
• Long-term until July
• £25,000 minimum salary
• Clear teacher training pathway
• Brent, North West London

The school is selectively shortlisting graduates with strong academic profiles and genuine long-term interest in teaching.
